On the 6th race day of the 120th Travemuende week three crews with a neat and clean record of bullets only lead their classes.

On Thursday, 23 July the repeated German TW winners Helge and Christian Sach remained unbeaten on their Formula 18 catamaran as well as Ferdinand and Sebastian Ziegelmayer from Hamburg with Philipp Meier of the Laser SB 3 and the couple Uti and Frank Thieme (Berlin) on their Korsar. In the gender mixed Olympic Laser Radial class in Travemuende the stronger sex is dominating. Overall leader Sebastian Buehler is ahead with four points followed by Helge Bochmann (both Germany). At best female sailor is 19 years old Janine Ennulat from Berlin ranked 8th.

The Travemuende Week races of the Laser Radial, the 420 and the Pirates represent the last rehearsal for the International German Youth Championship in the second week. Sebastian Buehler (16) for now is satisfied with his results: 'The three wins, I’d never had expected, make me feel comfortable and ready for the International German Youth Championship. Next week it will certainly be harder.' 160 Laser Radial sailors filed their entries for the youth regatta.

'Once again, afterwards on the paper it looks much easier than it was when we were on the water', reported Nacra helmsman Helge Sach. It wasn’t meant to diminish the victories with his brother Christian, but to show clearly, that they had to make an effort in Travemuende as well as at the F18 World Championships in Knokke, Belgium where they achieved rank eleven. 'Once we started very conservatively in the middle of the line and the race course and we saw each other rounding the first windward mark on eighth position only', he added. Playing all their routine they finally succeeded.

Local heroes Thomas Kaitschick and Peter Gardeweg from Luebeck are leading tied on points in the Pirate ahead of Gunter Edinger and Dennis Weichert (Berlin). In contrast, in the 420 class South Germany dominates the West part. Number ones are Nina Brenk and Daniel Ribnitzky from Keltern one point ahead of Hannah Knopp and Katharina Dittmer from Duisburg.
