Interclub Tournament off Port Stephens – Lots of action on the water

Soldiers Point Marina Welcomes Game Fishers - Nautilus Boat Insurance NSWGFA Interclub Tournament 2012 Nelson Bay
Nautilus Boat Insurance NSWGFA 50th Anniversary Interclub Tournament was held off Port Stephens today, 25th February 2012. Complimentary platters of delicious fresh local oysters were waiting for appreciative but tired and happy game fishers as they arrived back at the marina after a long, successful day out on the water.

The tournament is an annual event held on the last weekend of February and the first weekend of March.

'It’s always great to welcome our game fishers back year after year to the marina and they look forward to and appreciate the complimentary hot breakfasts which are provided over the days of fishing' said Marina Manager Mr Darrell Barnett CMM. 'We thought this year we would also provide our game fishers with the opportunity to sample our beautiful local produce' he said.

'The weather was magnificent today and there was apparently a lot of action on the water with the majority of boats hooking a few marlin to then tag and release' said Mr Barnett.
