ICOMIA supports boat show in Sanya, Hainan, China

Organisers of the International Boat Show and Festival - a new four-day boat show supported by the International Council of Marine Industry Associations – ICOMIA – in Sanya, Hainan Island, China have launched a concentrated, highly targeted marketing campaign to ensure this boat show will attract global industry leaders and high quality visitors.

To be held between 17 – 20 October 2013 at the Serenity Marina, Sanya, the International Boat Show and Festival (IBSF) will focus on mid-range boats (10 - 15 meters) afloat and small craft ashore for watersport promotion.

IBSF is organised by the Hainan New Century Cultural Industry Investment & Development Co., LTD, a sustaining member of ICOMIA, with the assistance of Beijing based China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA), a full Member of ICOMIA.

The organisers wish to encourage the establishment of national pavilions for exhibiting boats by ICOMIA’s Marine Industry Association (MIA) members. Few would argue China is the market with the greatest potential and therefore has the hopes of many of us. The country is huge with an emerging middle class with improving disposable income.

Noting the success of the METS model of national pavilions, ICOMIA believes the International Boat Show & Festival provides an opportunity to provide the international branding the Chinese consumer seeks.
