The Brighton Junior Classes Regatta, incorporating the George McCallum Cup, will be conducted by Royal Brighton Yacht Club on December 8 this year.

The George McCallum Trophy is an annual event conducted at Royal Brighton Yacht Club to honour the late George 'Nugget' McCallum who was an inspirational figure in teaching young Sabot sailors. First awarded in 1974, the trophy is engraved with the names of some notable past winners including two-time Olympian and Laser Radial World Champion Krystal Weir, and two-time International Moth World Champion and ISAF World Sailor of the Year nominee Rohan Veal.

The regatta is open to boats of the Sabot, Optimist and Minnow classes. Boats in the Senior Fleet will be sailed one-up, while boats in the Junior Fleet will be sailed one-up or two-up. Prizes will be awarded to boats placed first, second and third overall in the Senior Fleet, and to boats placed first, second and third overall in the Junior Fleet. The George McCallum Trophy will be awarded to the first placed Sabot in the Senior Fleet.
