Clipper Yacht Race – 12 teams to return to St Katharine Docks

Clipper Round the World Race – After an epic 40,000 miles of ocean racing, the twelve teams competing in the world’s longest ocean race, including over 250 international crew members, will return to St Katharine Docks to a spectacular hero’s welcome.

Emotions will be running high as tens of thousands of Londoners, friends, family and race fans line the banks of the River Thames to welcome home the tenth edition Clipper 2015-16 Race crew back after completing one of the toughest endurance events on the planet.

The fleet will arrive at the iconic Tower Bridge at 09:45am and perform a parade of sail between 10:00-10:30am, with the twelve 70-foot state-of-the-art racing yachts parading up the River Thames to the Tower into St Katharine Docks -central London’s only marina.

Entry is free to the popular St Katharine Docks Race Village, which will feature a big screen, live music, drummers, dancers and international cuisine, pyrotechnics and official spectator boats - all of which is sure to get the capital into the spirit of adventure.

Saturday 30 July, 11AM - 6PM

The fleet will finish the race off Southend Pier, Southend that morning between 000 and 0400.

07:19 – Fleet arrives at the QE2 Bridge at Dartford
08.48 - Thames Barrier
09.01 – Fleet passes the Millennium Dome
09.12 - Fleet passes Greenwich Observatory
09.30 – Fleet passes Canary Wharf Pier
09.45 – Fleet Arrives at Tower Bridge
10.40 – Fleet enters St Katharine Docks after a parade of sail under Tower Bridge

Monday 1 August – Sunday 7 August
Come join us for the opportunity to get on board the Unicef Clipper 70-foot ocean racer that has crossed over 40,000 miles of ocean. Find out where the crews race, eat, sleep and navigate during their round the world race and speak to crew who have just completed the adventure.

A Day at the Keyhaven Regatta!

Trying day for some It's Day 3 of Distillery ABRW & conditions almost mirrored those of yesterday, although there were patches of 30 plus knot winds as competitors knuckled down and got into the groove after two earlier days of fresh winds that took some masterful crew work.
