Betchoice.com Lahana, the most recently sponsored maxi yacht in the 2011 Rolex Sydney Hobart is holding its IRC Overall place ahead of Wild Oats and Investec Loyal.

Wild Thing has retired following a report of gear failure and is making the return journey to Sydney.

Carl Crafoord, Betchoice.com Lahana navigator, reports 'We are in Bass Strait. The crew are all safe and everything has worked according to plan. Wind has started to ease and we remain happy with our position in the fleet'.

Betchoice.com Lahana is a first for an Australian bookmaker. Betchoice, a leading Australian betting site, is offering great odds on line honours as well as unique markets on the overall winner and the first yacht out of the Heads.

Betchoice’s Executive Chairman, Mark Morrissey, said: 'We are excited to be involved in this classic sailing event and wish the Betchoice.com Lahana team the very best of luck. We’ll be ecstatic if Betchoice.com Lahana wins either line honours or overall. If she does, we’ll celebrate by refunding the bets punters make with us on any of the other yachts.'

Betchoice.com Lahana is at $31, behind firm favourite Wild Oats XI ($1.30), Investec Loyal ($4.25) and Wild Thing ($21) to take line honours. For the race out of the Heads, the top three favourites are listed in the same order, but punters can pick up any other yacht for $21.

Betting on the Rolex Sydney Hobart is quick and easy with Betchoice’s new mobile sports betting service and bets can be placed right up until the gun signals the start at 1pm on Boxing Day. The mobile service can be found at m.betchoice.com and offers a user-friendly interface and simple navigation.
