Emirates Team New Zealand's sailing director, Glenn Ashby skippered the SL33 Stratis during the Winter Series and kept her under control in fresh conditions on the Waitemata harbour.
The SL33 features AC72 style foiling technology and are much more difficult to foil then the AC45F and S models which are designed to facilitate foiling. In the video the SL33 is seen foiling upwind and downwind.
Meanwhile the advance guard from Emirates Team New Zealand left for Portsmouth, England over the weekend to start working up the team's AC45F - one design foiler.
The team are believed to be trialing four new members drawn from the Red Bull Youth AC45 teams which placed first and second in the Youth America's Cup in 2013, other members have come from the NZL Sailing team and 18ft skiff class.
They will be tasked with replacing the three spots vacated by established Emirates Team NZ sailing crew, Jeremy Lomas, Winston Macfarland and Derek Saward.
