Sea Snake adventures for Kaz crew

by Kaz Crew on 6 Jun 2003
Another day of HOT HOT HOT.......... the wind is in at 121 degrees and the pressure has come in. So we are off. Thanks to all of you who blew hard. Collective action and team puff does work !!

In this heat we thought we would throw a fishing line over the side for a fresh seafood dinner.........unfortunately the only thing we caught was this HUGE sea snake.........so imagine lying in the cock pit was a squirming slimy sea snake.

We are tough blokes but cautous. We decided that we were going to be environmentally sound and return him /her back to the sea. Trim's hair stood on end and ran below we have not seen her since.

But how did we pick up a squirming sea snake ?..........
Imagine the scene all of us assisting this snakes return to the deep around the deck with a pair of Bears kitchen thongs................such a sight.

The snake was not happy to be out of the water and was not the most co operative.

Stop laughing everyone.....it was a sight but eventually we got it slithering into the water........................ Maybe we have the next book idea for Harry Potter ..............Slitheryn school is really on the KAZ yacht off Australia !!!

It then took Brett and Harald 2 hours to untangle the maze of fishing line.............in the blazing heat but at least we had our KAZ caps to keep us cool.

Which meant WE HAD NO FISH FOR DINNER so much for living at sea off the sea.....

Other housework was done today on the sails. The team had a sewing centre on the deck stitching where some tears had occured. Not major ones just routine.

We have started to make ice blocks of our water bottles in the freezer to help keep cool.
