Rayglass enjoys more success at Hutchwilco NZ Boat Show

The Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show in Auckland in May again proved a huge success for one of the country’s major pleasure boat manufacturers.

Rayglass Boats general manager Dave Larsen says the company sold a significant number of boats during the four day show.

'While we sold models right across our range, the Legend 2200, which was released last year, and the stunning Legend 2500 proved the most popular.'

Dave Larsen says the 2012 show was the company’s most successful boat show in four years.

'Although times are still tough for many, we found people were still keen to invest in their quality of life -- and in the precious time they get to spend on the water with family and close friends.'

He says those buying were all experienced boaties and were determined to get the best possible boat.

'They chose to buy a Rayglass because they wanted a boat they could be proud of: one that looked good, performed well and had all the practical features they demanded.'

The country’s most awarded boat builder again enjoyed significant success in the show’s annual Boat of the Show Awards, too.

The Rayglass Legend 2200 won the Boat of the Show: GRP Fishing Boat 6-7 Metres, while the Rayglass Legend 2500 won the Boat of the Show: GRP Fishing Boat Open.

It is the fifth time the Rayglass Legend 2500 has won its category, while the Rayglass Legend 2200 is two from two: having won its category in both of the two years since it was released.

Based on the water’s edge in the Auckland suburb of Mt Wellington, Rayglass today employs over 60 people in three state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and is one of the country’s most successful marine businesses, both at home and internationally.

In addition to their extremely popular six to 12-metre GRP Legend series, Rayglass also manufacture the Protector patrol, work and pleasure RIBs and the Pro-Jet, the world’s first commercially-manufactured PWC-powered RIB.
