2012 CSR Marine Melges 24 U.S. National Championship day 2 in Seattle, hosted by the Seattle Yacht Club (SYC) made up many times over for Friday's absence of racing.

Five heats were completed leaving former Melges 24 World Champion Harry Melges on Zenda Express in first overall. Six points behind, Australia's Warwick Rooklyn on Bandit was Melges' biggest challenger winning the last two heats of the day to finish second overall. Alan Field on WTF rounded out the top tier to finish third.

Saturday's conditions fully compensated the fleet with 15-20 knots of breeze and plenty of exciting Melges 24 racing. Melges was quick to sieze the championship lead, claiming bullets in races one, two and three. Rooklyn lashed back with momentum taking third and sixth in races two and three, then capitalizing on the increasing breeze to win races four and five of the day.

Former North American Champion Argyle Campbell on Rock n' Roll and Bruce Ayres' Monsoon rounded out the overall top five in fourth and fifth respectively.
