It’s Surf City on the NSW and Victorian Eastern Seaboard, but without the surfers, its way too wild, while the Queensland Sunshine Coast is sunny with some building breezes and the surf is getting louder here too.

Looks like great weather for the 16th ADCO Etchells Australasian Winter Championships here is Mooloolaba. 15 years, 15 winners, it seems the hardest trophy to win in the Asia Pacific, the list of top guns who have not won in
Mooloolaba is amazing, its starts of course with America’s Cup winner John Bertrand.

This year Class President Jake Gunther believes it’s his turn to win the title. He reminds us all that the Etchells is sailed in heaven. Funny, because Malcolm Page swears St Peter has a 470.

Belcher and Page and the Aussie team in general has started the Sail for Gold Regatta, as if Weymouth is their home port, just hope the heavy weather does not get worn out before end July.

One of the best things for the future of our elite Australian Sailing is to see young Tom Burton leading the Laser pack, after four races, with the ‘old Tom’ Slingsby at his shoulder.

Close call for the Beau Geste team, in the Auckland to Noumea Race, nearly did a One Australia it seems.

Lots more news, I’ll let you read it, in peace, gotta go and have a Coopers Red and watch the sunset.
