The Australian Sailing Team is now in Weymouth training ahead of Skandia Sail for Gold, the sixth of seven ISAF Sailing World Cup Regattas, which runs from 4 to 9 June 2012. Over 700 sailors from 60 nations will compete at the host venue of the London 2012 Olympic Sailing Competition. Latest news is that Victor K has been given a leave pass by his wife to stay on as Australian Coach until 2016.

A very exciting leg in the Volvo Ocean Race. In the 24-hour period to 1900 GMT today, both Groupama and Telefónica posted impressive runs of 534 and 533 nm respectively. Abu Dhabi’s account was 497 and lower than any other boat in the fleet.
At 1900 GMT tonight, Puma Ocean Racing (Ken Read/USA) was just 29.10 nm behind the leader. lead. Groupama in third was another 10 miles behind with Telefónica and Camper at 50 and 55 nm respectively.
The 16th ADCO Mooloolaba Etchells Australasian Championship Mid-winter in Mooloolaba is coming up fast, Organised by the Mooloolaba Etchells Fleet, is being held from seventh to 10th June 2012.
Having just returned from Sanctuary Cove, (lots more news still to come from there), we head north again next Monday. After that there are two more World Championships in Australia, and then the team heads to Weymouth. After that its Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island, then Magnetic Island.
The office will be mobile for all but three weeks of the next three months…its tough but someone has to do it…
