BSA wins exclusive syndication for Belize

Boating Syndication Australian (BSA) has signed an exclusive syndication agreement for the classy Belize motor yachts in Australia for the next two years. 'We are delighted with the agreement and already have two Belize 52 hardtop boats in our fleet,' said BSA Managing Director Andy Young.

The Belize Motoryachts brand, founded by industry veterans Wes Moxey and Lee Dillon, was recently sold to Riviera following the purchase of the iconic Australian manufacturer by Longhurst Marine Holdings. BSA will source its boats through R Marine Pittwater.

BSA’s second Belize 52 hardtop, Belizzimo, recently arrived in Australia and will be based on Queensland’s Gold Coast.

The new boat will form the centrepiece of BSA’s on-water display at the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show this week.

Andy Young said the company has been overwhelmed by demand for a luxury boat on the Gold Coast. Belizzimo will be based at Marina Mirage in Southport on the Gold Coast Broadwater.

'Our first Belize has been a wonderful success and now we want to bring this level of luxury to the Gold Coast market,' said Andy.

BSA is offering 10 shares in the new boat at a cost of $145,000 per share.

He said the appeal of the Belize is that it has managed to combine the soul and style of heritage marques with the advantage of advanced technologies.

BSA is also working on a program to include a Belize 52 daybridge model into the fleet a well as a larger hardtop.

Andy said he was particularly impressed by the Belize team’s flexibility.

'Wes Moxey and Lee Dillon listen carefully to owners and to their market,' he said. 'That is why the first model – the 52 hardtop - has been an immediate success.

'We asked for some modifications for our second boat to suit the Gold Coast lifestyle and nothing has been too much trouble. Our second Belize features more space in the saloon with a focus on al fresco entertaining.'

Sydney Belize owner Andrew Hardy commented on his new boat: 'She is an absolute marvel and the build quality and finish of the boat is beyond reproach. I feel privileged to own part of her and hope to own one outright one day.'

Commenting on the syndication model he said: 'Andy and his team pay great attention to detail and care about the boats as if they were their own.'

Andy Young said: 'BSA is not tied to any brand and our focus is management, not sales.

'Too often, syndication businesses are focussed on selling shares in a particular boat. It is pre-packaged with a standard agreement, standard shares and standard service.

'BSA’s share plans are fully flexible. If people need a different arrangement or a particular boat, we can set it up and source a boat for them.'

Andy said that BSA provides owners with clear knowledge of where their fees are allocated.

'We charge specific management and cleaning fees,' he said. 'All other costs such as insurance and berthing are organised at reduced negotiated rates with the savings passed directly on to the owners.'
