Sydney boaties to welcome secure boat storage and service facility

by Creating Demand on 14 Apr 2012

The Sydney boating public will soon welcome the arrival of a purpose built facility catering to their safe and secure boat storage and service needs.

White Bay 6 Marine Park will open to the public in early May, providing a much needed answer to the well publicised boat storage needs of Sydney boat owners. White Bay 6 Marine Park is the first major marine project to be developed on Sydney Harbour since the Minister for Road and Ports, Duncan Gay, announced the establishment of the Maritime Advisory Council and the development of a policy agenda to help solve a range of problems for Sydney boating including boat storage.

Much has been published recently on the challenges surrounding boat storage and a recent report released by the Marina Industries Association of Australia reported that the demand for boat storage in Australia currently outstrips supply. This ensures that the available storage at White Bay 6 Marine Park will definitely be in high demand.

A further report entitled NSW Boat Ownership and Storage: Growth Forecasts to 2026, published in July 2010, predicts the number of registered boats in NSW will grow significantly over the coming years, further confirmation that White Bay 6 Marine Park will help ease a major issue for boaties.

With a number of Sydney local councils looking to ban trailer parking in suburban streets, White Bay 6 Marine Park will also offer safe and secure storage for trailers and trailer-able boats of all sizes, as well as extensive on-site parking facilities with quick freeway access to all parts of Sydney.

White Bay 6 Marine Park is located in the heart of the Harbour offering safe and easy deep water access, hardstand and dry stack storage and a complete range of maintenance and services for pleasure boats up to 80 feet, as well as being adjacent to the recently opened Baileys Marine White Bay 6 fuel facility.

The brainchild of Brett and Alan McMullen, former owners of Fergusons Boatshed at The Spit, and Guy Bailey, the co-founder of national marine fuel supply company Baileys Marine, White Bay 6 Marine Park will offer boat storage, boat lift and a full range of light maintenance services, alongside the best priced fuel on Sydney Harbour.

White Bay 6 Marine Park will open in early May and is located in the centre of Sydney Harbour, just west of the Harbour Bridge and Darling Harbour, and north of the ANZAC Bridge in Pyrmont. There is plenty of secure onsite parking with immediate access to all of the major arterial roads, offering quick and hassle free travel to all areas.
