With exactly one month remaining before the start of the Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club's Newcastle to Port Stephens Race numbers are looking strong with 11 confirmed entrants and at least 6 or seven additional yachts indicating they will be entering in the next week or two.

Looking for a fresh southerly is Barry Kelly’s NCYC based Archambault 34 ‘Concealed Weapon’ while maybe hoping for breeze on the beam or a fresh Nor’Easter is German Fres designed ‘Margaret Rintoul’ owned by Graham Mobuckson and based out of MHYC in Sydney.

As a feeder race to the well-established Sail Port Stephens Regatta, the 29nm NCYC Newcastle to Port Stephens race is a great way of hopping up the coast on the weekend prior to events kicking off at Sail Port Stephens.

With RPAYC running a race on Saturday 14 April from Pittwater to Newcastle and the NCYC Newcastle Port Stephens Race starting the following day hopefully this year’s fleet numbers will break 2011’s record of 26 yachts. Racing will include a PHS and IRC division.

To view the Notice of Race and enter the NCYC Newcastle to Port Stephens Yacht Race go to www.ncyc.net.au and click on the link on the right hand side on NCYC’s webpage.
