Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club seeking a Sailing Administrator

Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club (NCYC), one of Australia’s newest yacht clubs, located on the Hunter River in Newcastle NSW, seeks in confidence expressions of interest for a Sailing Administrator to join its growing team.

Predominantly an offshore keelboat racing yacht club, NCYC with the assistance of a sailing administrator intends to continue to grow its keel boat racing fleet as well as develop a junior sailing program and related initiatives focused on increasing sailing participation in the Newcastle region.

Potential candidates should have sound sailing, race and regatta management skills, be proficient in course laying and possess experience in sports administration.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage and train volunteers will be highly regarded.

Experience in a similar paid or voluntary role will also be looked on favourably as would formal race officer qualifications.

A power boat and drivers licence are required to fulfil the duties associated with this role.

A competitive salary commensurate with experience will be provided to the right applicant along with a mobile phone and professional development budget.

Weekend work is a requirement of this position.

It is envisaged that the role of Sailing Administrator may not be a full time position however the Club will provide roles in other areas of its operations to ensure full time engagement if required (to be discussed at interview).
