Perth 2011 - a magnificent regatta

by Rob Kothe & the Sail-World Team on 16 Dec 2011
Ten great fleets, a great venue, with more coffee shops and pubs then you could possibly sample in two weeks, great courses, grandstands, a great success, a challenging mix of weather, looks like we will have the Doctor today –overall some drama, pain and joy.

In fact a regatta but everyone but the Pommes has enjoyed. Today tho’ the Brits could get one back with Lucy McGregor and team taking on Anna Tunnicliffe on the Match Racing.

Last night we talked to Tom Slingsby who would love to watch the last two Gold fleet Laser races from Grandstand but will be otherwise engaged and to Nicky Souter after her win against Olivia Price in the Womens Match Racing.

Nathan Outteridge and Goobs Jensen are pushing towards the lead in the 49ers, with three more races tomorrow.
We will be keeping a close eye of the 470 Women’s fleet today with Rechichi and Stowell just two spots out of the medal round after a shocking start to the regatta.

Yes there are other things happening in the sailing world and you can read about them too.
