Boat Show TV for Qld, Melbourne Summer show overhaul, METS begins
by Jeni Bone, editor on 15 Nov 2011
As you read this, post-production is underway on an innovative marketing tool Marine Qld hopes will ignite interest in boating and inspire Queenslanders to get out on the water this summer. 'The Boat Show' is a 12-part series showing on Channel 44 across SEQld (and online at www.31.com.au) showcasing the reasons we love our boating, from celebrities, industry identities, sailors and a panel, discussing boating topics in depth.
It's a new means of reaching a broader audience, and the DVD of the series is additional marketing collateral for Marine Qld and its partners.
Also this week, plenty of other boat show news - Aussies at METS, new products and organisers' plans, as well as the post-show report from Fort Lauderdale, which despite inundation over the weekend, managed to attracted around 95,000 (same as last year) and sell boats - some exhibitors saying it was the best show in 5 years.
Locally, our Melbourne Summer Boat Show has undergone a revamp - new name, new logo and new look for the first of the Australian boat shows for 2012.
With this amazing summer weather already heating things up downunder, let's hope boating gets the push we have been waiting for!
Have a top week!
