Washing the deck - Wednesday Night racing Murray de Lues
What was initially thought to be a ho hum race course turned into a thrilling ride for the crew of Extreme on Wednesday night in Tauranga.
A very large black cloud appeared over the race course and while doing around 16knts, Extreme skippered by David Peet caught the back of a nasty chop and submarined. Once that mess was cleaned up, off they went again only to have the downhaul rope inner core company with the sheath. Pole goes skyward and the fun commenced. The stick the crew got later in the clubhouse lasted a lot longer than the wipeout.
Unfortunately the crew on the Harry Highet were keeping a watchful eye on Fred Jeannes' Windsheer after she dropped her rig and missed Gary Smith's Sniper do an Extreme wipeout trashing their kite.
