NSW Hobie Cat State titles at Palm Beach Sailing Club

by Dick Clarke on 8 Nov 2011
SW
NSW Hobie Cat State Titles 2011-12 will be hosted by Palm Beach Sailing Club on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December.

The two day regatta will be sailed in Pittwater off Station Beach, at the north end of the Pittwater side of the Palm Beach peninsula. Boats will launch from Sand Point, off Iluka Road.

Visitors will find plenty to interest them - either strolling among the boats before or after the days' sailing, or the spectacle of large numbers of these exciting and brightly coloured boats jockeying for position on the start line, or at speed as they round the course. Some spills are a virtual certainty, but more so some great skills display by many of the nation's best sailors, including world and national champions.

Hobie sailors are invited to register and join in this exciting and fun event. Classes include the ubiquitous Hobie 16, which provides some of the best match racing in the world, through to state of the art Formula 18 Hobie Wildcats. Open, Masters, Grand Masters, Youth and Womens classes - even the classic Hobie 14, and the indestructible Hobie Wave have classes open to entry.

Notification of the race (Hobie Catamaran Association NOR), and other details can be found on the Palm Beach Sailing Club Hobie Cat Association website
