29er Eurocup Regatta, organized by Fraglia Vela Riva at Riva del Garda, concluded today, October 2nd 2011. The event also decided the final standings in the European Tour 2011.

The Spaniards Robles Carlos and Trittel Florian took a good 54 points over compatriots Llena Mahiques, who had been leaders on the first and third day, but with two races to go fell back into fourth position despite being equal in points. Today they took a 15th and a second partial which helped them climb back into second position behind Robles-Trittel, overtaking Norwegians Snerlebakken-Klippenberg who came in sixth in the pen-ultimate race, but had to pull out of the decisive final. It was a tightly fought race for second and third place on the podium. In the 29er XX class, the German sisters Jule and Lotta Goerge dominated throughout.

The Spanish crew of Robles-Trittel took the 29er Eurocup 2011 title. Silver went to Swiss Giovanoli-Zurfluh, seventh here at Riva del Garda and third place overall for Hawkins-Thomas of Great Britain, eighth in today's final race. Final results are available here.

Once again the staff at Fraglia Vela Riva out-performed themselves for this event, which saw over sixty crews from ten different nations. Sun and wind prevailed over Trentino Garda, to give the best conditions possible for this event.
