Notice of Race and Entry form for Joico Regatta now online

The 2003 Joico regatta will be staged out of the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club over the weekend of March 1 and 2.

Being staged for just the second time, the Joico Regatta this year will attract some of the best offshore racers in Australia plus at least 15 Sydney 38s, a fleet of Farr 40s, inshore keelboats and 20 sports boats contesting the Elliott 7 and Thompson 7 Australian Championships.

The winners of all divisions, including inshore keelboats and sports boats, will be recognised as holders of the Joico Trophy.

“We wanted to establish a first class series for Pittwater when we introduced the Joico regatta last season, and already this has been confirmed with the granting of the Australian Offshore Sailing Championship to the event in 2004,” the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club’s commodore Ross Scoble said.

‘It’s a huge honour for the club and the series, an honour which will contribute to next month’s regatta being even more successful.’

Joico is Australia’s leading professional hair care company. The company’s CEO, Anton Starling, who originally promoted the idea of establishing the regatta on Pittwater, said it was extremely satisfying to see Joico’s firm belief in the future of the event being confirmed by the awarding of the Australian Offshore Sailing Championship:

‘Last year’s regatta was a huge success and this year’s will be even greater. By the time the Australian Championship comes around next year we believe we will be setting new standards in offshore regattas. Joico is very proud to be associated with the RPAYC and this event.’

This year’s Joico Regatta will be offering competition in a wide range of divisions and classes: IMS, IRC, PHS, Farr 40, Sydney 38, Sports boats and inshore keelboats.

The social agenda around the regatta will include a pre-event Ladies' Luncheon and Fashion Parade at the RPAYC on Friday, February 28. Joico,
