The newly launched SportzZone.tv is a free access online sports TV channel that focuses exclusively on the youth market. A one-stop resource providing information, entertainment, instruction and inspiration, it aims to set the standard in youth sport TV.

Aiming to set the standard in youth sport TV, SportzZone.tv is a new, free-to-view online sports TV channel that focuses exclusively on the youth market with a target audience of male and female viewers aged between 12 and 21.

The new channel looks certain to be a key source of inspiration, entertainment, education and information on a wide range of youth sports, delivered in the medium favoured by young people – online video.

This visually appealing new online channel already has hours of high production value, full screen video to watch, showcasing over 20 different sports. A mix of short form contemporary content and highlights shows, programming is sourced from around the world and commissioned from a variety of specialist producers.

The last 12 months has seen a massive rise in online TV and it seems destined to become the favoured way to watch TV in the future, driven in part by the flexible viewing times available but more importantly the way that people – and especially young people – access the internet: via smartphones, tablet computers and other portable devices.

SportzZone.tv was launched following extensive audience research and a robust six-month ‘beta’ test period which was used to gauge youth audience feedback and fine tune the service and ensure full integration with all aspects of social media for peer networking. It uses latest ‘TV anywhere’ technology to deliver highly focused playlists featuring all sports with dedicated zones covering training and coaching, sports science, health and fitness, diet and nutrition.

The overall aim is to entertain; introduce young people to new sports; motivate and inspire them to get more involved and encourage others that might be less active to adopt a healthier, active lifestyle and meet new friends along the way.

SportzZone.tv founder David Edmund-Jones comments, 'These are fast moving times for young sports enthusiasts with the digital age proving particularly rewarding for the youth audience. We have some exciting plans for SportzZone.tv and with less than a year before the London Olympics it’s likely that interest in sport amongst young people will reach unprecedented levels and SportzZone.tv aims to capitalise on that.

Our highly experienced production team - 1080Media - and content supply chain will take maximum advantage of contemporary programming whilst developing new strategies to take youth sport to completely new Sportzzone.tv website
