As the AC World Series prepares to make its second stop in Plymouth September 10-18, event organizers today announced that Comcast Sportsnet in the San Francisco Bay area and Viasat Sports in Scandinavia have joined the list of broadcasters carrying the final Sunday winner-take-all event live.

In addition to Comcast Sportsnet and Viasat Sports, the live broadcast will be shown on September 18 on Now TV in Hong Kong, Supersport in South Africa and across sub-Saharan Africa, and on Sky Sports.com in the UK. New Zealand’s TVNZ will again carry live action of the nine spectacular AC45 catamarans battling for the title of AC World Series Plymouth champion on September 19.

Comprehensive highlights coverage will also be carried by Sky Sports, together with ITV4 (at 18.00 local time) on September 18th, and with a special 30-minute documentary planned for BBC West viewers on the following Monday evening. Highlights will also be shown by:

Versus and Comcast Sportsnet in the USA
Canal+ in France, La Siete in Spain
Sport1 in Germany
Great Sports Channel in China
ESPN Sur across South America
Sport Klub channels in nine Eastern European countries
Channel 7 Australia
Yacht and Sail channel in bouquets across 24 European territories, including Italy.

The weekly magazine programme, 'America’s Cup Uncovered' is also enjoying wide distribution globally on most of the above channels, plus TVI in Portugal, Pro TV Romania, Channel 4 in the UK, the Chello Media Sport1 and 2 channels in Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania and Slovenia, Channel 5 in Singapore and in China through Sina.com.

In addition to broadcast outlets, every minute of the live action is available on the dedicated America’s Cup YouTube channel – livestreamed and on demand - with a choice of commentary for the general sports fan or the sailing insider, as well as multi-screen player with four different camera angles so viewers can choose the action they want to view.

The inaugural America’s Cup World Series launched last month in Cascais, Portugal, where Dean Barker and Emirates New Zealand’s come-from-behind win in the final race thrilled live and on demand viewers.

The second stop of the global circuit, the AC World Series Plymouth action begins this weekend, featuring the high-octane AC 500 Speed Trial that showcases teams pushing their boats and themselves to the very limit.
