Effective this week, well known and respected yachtsman Syd Fischer’s Australian Corporate Holdings has completed the purchase of the state of the art Sydney City Marine boat maintenance facility.

Executive Chairman of the Australian Corporate Holdings, Syd Fischer OBE, is well known for his hands on approach to business and also for his many sporting achievements. Twice recognised as Australian Yachtsman of the Year and three times as Ocean Racer of the Year, he has competed in over 40 Sydney to Hobart yacht races, five America’s Cup challenges and was inducted into the NSW Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.

'With our long and successful history in boat building and maintenance, my team and I see this as an ideal opportunity to give competitive and competent service to all boat owners. Sydney City Marine is the best facility in Australia and we understand what owners want, good efficient personalised service.' Syd Fischer,OBE

Located under the ANZAC Bridge, Sydney City Marine is the most advanced boat repair and maintenance facilities in Australia with the technology and capacity to handle repairs and maintenance for a wide range of marine craft from recreational power and sailing boats, to super yachts and commercial vessels.

With up to 600 tonnes in lift capacity, an enormous hardstand area and undercover facilities, fast all weather turnaround ensures minimum downtime for any boat. Boat repairs and maintenance can be carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and the site is centrally located with easy road access and on site trade persons.

Environmental controls at Sydney City Marine are also world class. The two purpose built paint sheds, with a total size of 875 sq meters, utilise advanced boat painting technology ensuring 90% of the paint sprayed reaches the boats surface whilst any air borne paint particles are filtered through sophisticated extraction filters. The entire site is sealed to prevent any seepage into the ground or harbour, and all water used in cleaning is sent to an on-site water treatment plant. A 300,000 litre rain water tank also ensures the facility is self-sufficient and rigorous noise dampening techniques control any extraneous industrial sounds.
