Meridien Marinas has commenced construction of 24 super yacht berths at the Port of Airlie development. The new superyacht precinct will form part of the 289 berth marina and will provide a new place to dock some of the world's most impressive vessels.
Located in the heart of the $750 million development, the new precinct berths will accommodate boats of 30m to 50m.
The new precinct will be utilized for future Meridien Marinas Annual Airlie Beach Race Weeks and is expected to encourage larger fleets to participate.
Meridien Marinas CEO, Warwick Bible said 'This is a great step forward for attracting larger fleets to the Whitsunday region.
'Port of Airlie and Abel Point Marinas have become the true gateway to the magic that is the Whitsundays' he said.
