Mercury opens new Headquarters

The new Mercury HQ. Mercury Marine
Mercury Marine has officially opened its new headquarters for the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region – a building designed to further improve efficiencies and provide even greater support to dealers and customers.

The building, in the Melbourne suburb of Dandenong South, was officially opened by Dustan (Dusty) McCoy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Brunswick Corporation (Mercury’s parent company) and John Pfeifer, President – Brunswick Marine in EMEA and Brunswick Global Structure. Mr. Pfeifer is responsible for managing marine operations in addition to shared services for all of Brunswick's operations outside of the United States.

Mercury’s new headquarters, which opened exactly on schedule, boasts 6,2002 metres of warehouse space equipped with a high-tech, electronic parts-checking system. There is also a world-class training room and workshop which includes a machine shop, a welding area and an enclosed rebuild and tool room - all to ensure our dealer technicians are trained to a uniformly high standard of quality and knowledge.

'Our customers and dealers will certainly see the benefits of this new facility,' said John Temple, General Manager for the Australian, New Zealand and the Pacific region.

'Our service and delivery systems are now significantly better thanks to the design and technology we’ve put in place, and we have state-of-the-art training and meeting facilities for dealers and their technicians.'

Having helped to reshape Brunswick into a leaner and more focused organisation over the past few years, Mr McCoy said he was very comfortable investing in the new headquarters.

'We look around the world and this region is a great, great place for us. You have the best (marine) customers in the world, and I know the dealers are fantastic business operators,' said Mr McCoy.

'As well, our staff here are the best there are. We measure our people in many, many ways and whichever way we look at it, no-one’s better.'

Mr Pfeifer echoed that confidence.

'This is an investment in world class service to support our dealer network and, through them, our customers,' he said.
