It’s Not Easy Being Green Regatta participants Katie Nicoll
August 5th was the sixth Annual It's Not Easy Being Green Optimist Regatta held at Port Credit Yacht Club in Mississauga, Ontario. 20 Green Optimist sailors from Port Credit Yacht Club, Ashbridge's Bay YC, Frenchmen's Bay YC, and Boulevard YC completed in this fun event where every competitor was a winner.

Special thanks to Galin Richardson from RCYC was probably the youngest assistant race officer ever, at age 10! Galin hauled anchors, took wind readings, and lay marks.

Ethel Thayer, regatta co-ordinator, was thrilled with the participation. She has been running this fun regatta, where everyone wins, for the past six years.

The only requirement to enter is that the youngsters are a green Optimist sailor. The competitors were divided into Pram and Optimist Divisions.
