The second day of the 2011 Six Senses Phuket Raceweek returned to form with good wind and good sailing. While competitors gathered ashore, a rain storm swept through the anchorage leaving behind good consistent winds for which 'Asia's Best Regatta' has become famous.
In IRC Racing, Team Premier (Neil Pryde) were looking to continue her winning ways from Day 1 and stretched their series lead with two more bullets followed by Katsu (Ben Copley) with two second places and KukuKERchu (David Ross) with two third place finishes. Some good crew work on Katsu saw her tracking the leaders well and has brought her back into the series with a solid fourth place overall.
Team Land and Houses (Peter Dyer) scored two bullets in the Firefly 850 Sport, with two second places for Voodoo (Ian Coulson/ Clarance Tayong). Twin Sharks (John Newnham) finished third in Race 1 today and Moto Inzi (Roger Kingdon) third in Race 2. Team Land and Houses and Voodoo are now tied on points in the series.
Racing continues tomorrow.
