Peter Hall, Chantal Leger, and Megan Armitage from Royal St. Lawrence Yacht Club won the Canadian Lightning Trials July 1 -3 in Kingston, Ontario. Eight boats sailed eight races in a variety of conditions and wind strengths. The Montreal team won 7 races for a total of 7 points, and Jeff Boyd was second with 18 points and Jamie Allen was third with 22 points.
The XV! Pan American Games will be in Guadalajara Mexico from October 14, - 30, 2011 and the sailing will be in Puerto Vallarta, October 17 – 23.
Peter was surprised and amazed by the convincing win, 'Chantal and Megan did a great job sailing, boat handling, and always looking out for the wind pressure and puffs. We were pleased that in different wind strengths we were able to stay ahead of Jamie Allen and Jeff Boyd, Pan Am silver medalist in 1979!'
Paul Davis did a great job organizing the regatta, and Ross Cameron ran eight excellent races off Kingston Yacht Club.
Thanks to everyone.
