Ghost II debut for Sydney International Boat Show

by Jeni Bone on 12 Jul 2011 Ghost II, the splendid 120ft Warren superyacht bound for luxury charters in Sydney and beyond has booked a berth at SIBS this year.

Destined to be the 'Belle of the boat show', the 120ft Warren yacht, Ghost II is so new, there is no information on the company’s website yet.

Cameron Bray, CEO at Ghost Charters says the success of Ghost, the 87ft Warren Yacht, which has been operating for the past three years, convinced him of the need for a second boat.

'Despite the GFC, last year was our most successful in business. In fact, we doubled business from the year prior. So we believe we have a great product.'

The company is now in the process of assembling the marketing collateral for the new offering, aiming to make a great splash at the Sydney Boat Show for its official launch.

Cameron says he wouldn’t be exaggerating to claim Ghost II is 'the most luxuriously appointed boat in Australia'.
'From what contractors inform me, it is. The detail is incredible. It sleeps 8 in four state rooms each with ensuite. We have had the boat in our possession for one month. We didn’t need to do anything, apart from adjust safety aspect for charter requirements.'

Cameron, whose own background includes crewing and managing luxury Superyacht charters around the Mediterranean and for a Saudi Royal, has run Ghost Charters since 2008. Onboard, he has an experienced, well qualified crew who are content to work on 'the best boats in Australia'. 'They are loyal. We run a good operation, and have a great culture. People want to stay.'

Cameron says that while the boats are ultra-elite, it’s an open market for the their uses.
'The reality is, only a tiny percentage of the population will be able to own and run boats like these. So our charters make it very accessible through corporate charters, events and any kind of per day or weekly charter for people to experience yachts of this calibre.'

The vessels are in demand by corporates and individuals for incentive programs, product launches, client entertainment, Christmas parties and as a play thing for the rich and famous. 'Sydney Harbour is perfect for it. It’s the best private dining room and backdrop you could desire. We’ve had a couple take it to Hamilton Island for their honeymoon, as well as special occasions, weddings and celebrations. We like to think of Ghost as a blank canvas that clients can customise.'

The range is generally the east coast, or wherever a client wants to charter it.

Cameron is hoping the Sydney boat show will generate a buzz around Ghost II to get the bookings flowing in. 'Our marketing consists of charter agents and our website. The boat show will allow the public to see the boat and what it has to offer. We are hoping for broader exposure with the Today Show, Sunrise, and other media.'
