Although this year’s show was a more sombre and low-key affair, the team at Grant Torrens International Marine Motor Yacht Brokerage says it's planning a bigger Lifestyle spectacle in October with 'all the bells and whistles' and taking full advantage of the sultry Gold Coast weather at that time of year.

According to Nicole Allen from GTIM, the marina on Sovereign Islands will be a must-visit venue for people interested in all facets of the yachting lifestyle. 'There will be fashion, jewellery, fast cars, Fashion TV, fireworks, helicopters and of course, superb superyachts - all the bling!'

A new Superyacht marina is under construction and will accommodate seven to eight yachts of 120ft and above.
The next event will take place from the weekend of 29 October and continue throughout the week, to coincide with the Gold Coast Marine Expo the weekend after, 'just down the road' at the Gold Coast Marine Precinct in Coomera.

Traditionally, Grant Torrens International Marine hosts its show to coincide with the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (20 May 2011), as well as having an exhibitor presence at the show.

This year’s event at the Sovereign Islands, though a scale back version, showcased more than 30 luxury motoryachts, ranging from 115’ to 20’ towable boats, worth over $70 million.

Aston Martins from Sunshine Aston Martin, BMWs from Bruce Lynton BMW and Robinson R44 Helicopters from Helibiz also made an appearance, alongside a sample of American muscle cars supplied by Peter Leahy’s Classic Imports and Geezers Garage.

Nicole says the quality of buyer was there this year, despite numbers being down.
