To help Japan residents in the long, post-earthquake recovery, Dr. Shrink, in partnership with Transhield, donated 50 disaster shelters. The two shrink wrap suppliers designed and built lightweight, 2.4m x 3m structures for survivors to inhabit as the nation rebuilds.

The shelters will go to the small village Rikuzen Takada, which is in Iwate Prefecture, one of the areas hardest hit by the tsunami.

'Currently, there is no housing available so the Dr. Shrink, Inc. Disaster Shelters will be a big help to the community as they rebuild,' said Dr. Shrink president Mike Stenberg. 'Our hearts go out to the people of Japan and we're doing what we can to help them.'

The shelters are made of sewn shrink wrap with a non-woven fabric liner. They have screened windows for viewing, vents for increased air flow and a waterproof floor. A framework constructed of sturdy 3.8 cm PVC piping enables stability. No tools are needed to erect them.

Dr. Shrink, Inc. is a full-service, full-circle supplier of premium shrink wrap. It has shrink wrap immediately available in widths from 4m-15m, as well as all shrink wrapping products and accessories including heat tools, adhesives, zipper access doors and venting.

In Australia, Dr. Shrink is available through All Marine Spares, www.allmar.com.au
