Sail-World New Zealand- 14 June 2011

by . on 14 Jun 2011

Welcome to Sail-World.com's New Zealand newsletter for 14 June 2011

Sensation today, from San Francisco, as four times America's Cup winning skipper Russell 'Crash' Coutts finished the job he started last week, when he capsized an AC45 during pre-start practice on a Media Day.

His earlier incident near Golden Gate Bridge was faithfully recorded by two cameramen in different locations.

Today's incident was captured on video.

In this edition of Sail-World we have all the images and video - and there will updates on www.sail-world.com as more comes to hand - as will surely happen.

As mentioned above, this week is a Media event in San Francisco. There is no live online coverage/connection available for international media as was done twice in Auckland during the Media and Management Trials in April and May.

From those on the ground in San Francisco, we understand that nothing new was announced, today. Further media sessions are planned for later in the week.

From Weymouth we wrap up out coverage from the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta with a look, republished from The Independent , on the inner workings of the British Olympic Sailing Squad. There's some surprising information on what is widely touted to be the best funded Olympic sailing team in the world.

NZL Sailing Team member, Dan Slater also takes a long hard look at his performance in the Skandia Sail for Gold Regatta. We have his report in this edition of Sail-World.
