Annapolis Leukemia Cup Regatta is part of a nationwide series of regattas to raise money for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). The 19th edition of the regatta will be hosted by Eastport Yacht Club on Saturday, June 11th. Over 100 sailboats and 500 crew will take part in the one-day program while raising funds for the fight against blood cancers.

Bavaria Yachts USA, which opened for business at Yacht Haven of Annapolis, MD, in May, has partnered with the Annapolis Leukemia Cup Regatta as a presenting sponsor.

'We are thrilled to team up with the Annapolis Leukemia Cup Regatta in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society,' said Kenny Feld, managing director of Bavaria Yachts USA. 'It’s a great opportunity for us as a new company in Annapolis to be involved with a community event that raises funds for such a far-reaching cause. This event coincides with the arrival of our first shipment of 32 – 45ft Cruiser yachts and we hope that regatta spectators, participants and community members will take the opportunity to step on board the boats during the course of the day.'

The program of events planned by Bavaria Yachts USA includes a private audience with Russell Bowler, vice president of Farr Yacht Design, designers of the new Cruiser models, followed by boat demonstrations and a grandstand view of the racing on the Chesapeake. The doors to Bavaria Yachts USA will open to the public at 2.00pm with the opportunity to view the new Cruisers on the dock. The regatta draws to a close with the Bavaria Yachts USA All Hands Crew Party that includes an awards ceremony when the top fundraising boat will be awarded the prestigious Leukemia Cup.

Jon Rosa, executive director of the Maryland Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, expressed his pleasure at the new partnership with Bavaria Yachts USA. 'We are delighted that Bavaria Yachts USA has joined us as a presenting sponsor at this year’s 19th Annapolis Leukemia Cup Regatta and hope that this is the start of a long association with the company.'

Bavaria Yachts USA is the sole importer, distributor and dealer for Bavaria Yachts on the East Coast of the USA to the Great Lakes and Texas. Founded by a new management team with a completely new business model, the company focuses solely on the direct sales, after-sales support and charter fleet placement of Bavaria Yachts. The Cruiser 32, Cruiser 36, Cruiser 40 and Cruiser 45 will be available for charter and test sails from June 2011 at the new flagship office and slips at Yacht Haven of Annapolis, 303 Second Street, Annapolis, MD.
