The Etchells Worlds Championship 2011 will be sailed from June 6th to 11th in San Diego (USA). The Organizing Authority is the San Diego Yacht Club in conjunction with the Etchells 13 Fleet.

Under bright blue skies Sunday began with a skippers meeting led by PRO Bill Stump outside of the SDYC Malin Burnham Sailing Center in front of an audience of several hundred Etchells sailors, regatta and race committee volunteers.

About half the fleet participated in the May ORCA Bowl regatta which served as a warm up event with similar race conditions and course layout. The boats were all in the water and on tow lines by about 10:00 AM headed out four miles southeast to the race course location for a day of practice starts and races.

San Diego Yacht Club has transformed Etchells sailing headquarters, and the competition is ready to explode on Monday with the first race of the series.
