New Stacer for one big happy family

by Mark Rothfield on 3 Jun 2011
Stacer's EVO hull runs smoothly and is rated to 115hp Ebany Draper Telwater
If all work and no play is making Dad a dull boy then the new Stacer 539 Ocean Runner is just what the family ordered.

The new 539 Ocean Runner from Stacer is ideal for spending quality time with the family … without spending a fortune. The entry-level, half-cabin tinnie is designed for fishing, cruising, camping or water sports, with seating for up to six people.

Stacer has employed the EVO Advance Hull, with a new transom to maximise space, a sharper bow design and a deepish vee for cutting-edge performance. The hull is built with 2.5mm topsides and 4mm bottom sides, so it’s strong enough to withstand any conditions.

It’s rated to 115hp, which means enough power for social skiing or to carry some hefty fishos over an ocean bar and out to sea. With a 95-litre fuel tank you will get more than enough hours on the water.

The 539 comes standard with features such as bimini, rod holders, sounder and Lowrance radio, while options include a ski pole, transom door, CD stereo, livebait tank and bunk infill cushion.

The cabin provides protection from the elements and the 1.5-metre long bunks can squeeze in an overnight adventure.

On trailer it measures 6.85 metres and weighs 1260kg, so it can easily be towed behind the family car. As with all Stacers, the 539 is available as a Ready2Go boat, motor and trailer package, backed by a three-year limited factory warranty.

See www.stacer.com.au for details.

Meanwhile, Telwater sister company Quintrex has awarded its national dealer of the year award to Streaker Boats … now there’s a headline that few people would’ve thought they’d see, given the animosity that previously existed between rival fibreglass and aluminium boat builders.

Whether it started as simply a 'can’t beat ’em join ’em' philosophy, the decision by Victorian based Streaker Boats to take on a Quintrex dealership six years has paid major dividends.

The company is better known for its fibreglass runabouts that, in many cases, compete directly with the Quintrex aluminium product.

Streaker co-directors Leon and Paul Savage have embraced the Quintrex brand and apparently provided excellence in customer service, stock display and variety, dealership presentation and marketing.

'Streaker has exceeded expectations and furthermore we are yet to receive a piece of negative feedback from a customer in regards to this dealership; which is a true reflection of the exceptional customer service Streaker consistently provides to all of its customers ' Quintrex National Account Manager Cameron Wood said.

Streaker recently launched a new website and employed facebook and SMS marketing campaigns, however Leon Savage credits their success is stocking a large range of Quintrex boats.

'Having the boat on the showroom floor allows customers to climb in, grab a hold of the steering wheel and really envisage themselves in the boating lifestyle' he said.

Streaker’s service extends to delivering boats to the ramp, ensuring the buyers is familiar with the boat’s operation from the outset.
