Reichel-Pugh Yacht Design presents us with another innovative vessel, the MC-R 35. The MC-R 35 is hot off the drawing board and is a cruiser/racer that will be coupled with the latest McConaghy Boats construction technology.

This MC-R 35's dual cruiser/racer abilities will make it wonderfully suitable for race course victories or for casual family cruising. Yachtsmen and yachtswomen will have the ability two become proud owners of a McConaghy built yacht at a fraction of the cost of a custom project.

Designed as a seaworthy and rewarding boat to sail, the MC-R35 will win races and provide comfortable weekend cruising for the whole family. The interior and deck are both spacious and ergonomically optimized for both racing and overnight cruising, and like the performance on the water exceeds the current benchmarks as a dual purpose cruiser/racer.

The MC-R35 is engineered by Reichel/Pugh to the ISO 12215 standard with structural scantlings reviewed and plan approved by Germanishier Lloyd to meet the latest Offshore Special Regulation scantling requirements for ISAF Category 2 racing.

For 44 years McConaghy Boats has been in the forefront of building yachts to an exceptionally high level of quality and the name is now synonymous with light, strong, stiff and beautiful yacht construction. McConaghy Boats has a pedigree second to none which includes yachts that have been very competitive and successful in the Americas Cup, Kenwood Cup, Maxi Worlds, Admiral's Cup, Whitbread/Volvo and Olympic Classes.

When Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design and McConaghy Boats have teamed up the results have been nothing but exceptional in both performance and quality of construction. Such examples of this successful collaboration include the 30m Canting Keel Super Maxis Esimit Europa 2 (ex Alfa Romeo) and Wild Oats XI , the 86' Canting Keel Maxi Morning Glory and the Mini Maxis 72' Shockwave (ex Alfa Romeo III) and 63' Loki.

The design features European styled modern lines with teak lined cockpit floor and coaming seats, McConaghy built twin carbon steering wheels, a fixed or removable bowsprit for asymmetrical spinnakers and a high performance carbon mast, boom and spreaders. The deck layout is optimized for racing or cruising with a reduced number of crew onboard.

The interior features a modern and spacious ergonomic layout with full headroom, folding table in a comfortable settee area with storage shelves, galley with storage cupboards, built in navigation station, two double aft cabins and a fully enclosed forward washroom and owner's cabin.

McConaghy Boats will be utilizing their latest construction methods and techniques to build the yacht in a combination of foam cored E-Glass and premium infused vinylester epoxy resins.

Combining superior design and craftsmanship sets this yacht apart from the range of cruiser/racers currently on the market and will provide many years of comfortable cruising and successful racing to her owners.
