Ensign's Bavaria factory open to the public

The giant boat builder Bavaria Yachtbeau is now offering a rare opportunity for the public to go behind the scenes of their manufacturing plant and experience for themselves the unique production methods.

The factory, located in the German town of Giebelstadt, is conducting guided tours through the production halls and workshops in late June. Tours will be conducted both in German and English, with the entire range of boats on display as well.

Australia's Bavaria powerboat distributor, Ensign Ship Brokers National Sales Manager Andy Howden says the factory open day will be an eye-opener for much of the Australian public.

'Bavaria offers one of the most competitive power boats on the market, and part of that is due to the manufacturing process,' Mr Howden said. 'Every procedure on the line is scheduled down to the smallest detail, so quality is consistent.'

'The unique production line means higher quantities, higher cost efficiency and a higher standard of quality which translates to exceptional value for consumers that every other brand cannot match.'

There is a strong degree of automation at the Bavaria factory from the laminating rooms with humidity and climate control to an automated coating line with UV-drying. Bavaria also employs the latest technology in the production process.

Sandwich constructions are an approved technology used in aviation industries and for ice-breaking ships, something Bavaria uses along the over-water-area of the hull and within the deck to improve stiffness in the hull.

Low heat conductivity prevents condensation and makes the living atmosphere more pleasant. Aramid fabric, the material used for making bullet proof vests, is used for the collision endangered front part of the ship and for the keel flange.

These are just a few of the techniques used to create a top of the range product at an affordable price. Bavaria has a huge price advantage over it’s competitors, sometimes as much as 30 per cent for a comparable boat.

The Bavaria brand builds over 3000 boats per year, close to ten times more than its competitors. The need to balance its production throughout the year creates massive incentives on delivery slots heading into winter, before the factory closes for the month of August.

If you are interested in a power boat, there’s never been a better time to buy the most valuable boat on the market.

See, try and experience before you buy at the Bavaria factory in Germany. Anyone interested in going to the factory open day should contact Andy Howden of Ensign Ship Ensign Ship Brokers Bavaria Boats website
