Match Race France in Marseille sees World Match Racing Tour and television production partners Redhanded TV launch three new IPTV initiatives at the season opener this week.
The new offering aims to give viewers around the world a front row seat at World Match Racing Tour events with behind the scenes footage, live coverage and technical commentary and analysis from the water.
‘The WMRT Morning Show’ - hosted and presented by leading professional sailor Hannah White, it broadcasts daily at 0845 local time on
WMRT website and sets the scene for the day's racing.
Live coverage is streamed on
WMRT website and via global distribution partner Sail.tv's global network of 75+ sailing portals from 1300-1500 local time. Lead commentator is Mark Chisnell who is supported by studio guests and on board reporters. Comments, questions and queries are invited during the coverage via the Tour’s Twitter and Facebook pages as well as the live blog.
‘WMRT Today’, a daily wrap up show again hosted by White on
WMRT website from 1930 local time, features the major incidents and personalities of the day.
Commenting on the new initiatives, WMRT CEO Jim O'Toole said: 'Redhanded TV have really captured the pre, during and post event drama, excitement and tension of match racing in these programmes. These three new developments are part of our ongoing commitment to creating a broader and deeper multimedia delivery platform . Live and downloadable IPTV programming and live streaming are crucial elements of that process and our technical output will be enhanced as our season progresses.'
At Match Race France, the Semi-Finals are delicately poised with the matches featuring Torvar Mirsky v Bertrand Pace and Jesper Radich v Damien Iehl both at 1-1.
