Get ready to read - we have a mammoth number of new, original and compelling features this week, along with plenty of product, business and industry updates to keep you busy.
This year's Tinnie & Tackle Show in Brisbane was 'awesome' according to my kids, who came home with a couple of cool hats, showbags with stickers and brochures, and an appetite for catching a bigger one, thanks to the fishing clinics and demonstrations we all know and love. The assortment of trucks, motor bikes and tents made it all the more exciting - and best of all, attendance was high and sales strong.
There's a lot of optimism in Brisbane, and Ensign Ship Brokers has responded, opening new offices in Manly to satisfy demand for new boat and brokerage sales.
We look at the latest campaign to lure tourists and sailors to Queensland, with the Season of Sailing promotion, campaign and calendar, with Ambassador Jessica Watson at the helm.
Around Australia, there are just three days until the deadline for Early Bird Registration and benefits for Marinas 2011 in Melbourne in June, so visit www.marinas11.com to secure your spot and be in the running for three nights free acommodation during the event; and we follow up with Guy Bailey from Baileys Marine Fuels on their first days of operation, as well as plans for phase two of development.
Around the world, there's details of the American Superyacht Forum returning to Fort Lauderdale this year, Evolution Sails branching out to Europe and the tragic news of the death of one of New Zealand's top sailors, apparently in a microlight accident.
Plenty more for every taste and temperament. We will have great big news in the lead up to Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show in the next week, so visit frequently.
Keep sending your news and views.
