NZL Sailing Team- Koru Match prepares for five months in Europe

NZL Sailing Team - Womens Match Race Stephanie Hazard (Helm), Susannah Pyatt (Bow) and Jenna Hansen (Trim) report from Europe:

Hi to all,

Koru Match is well settled in Europe for a 5 month tour of training and racing.

The purpose of the trip is to continue campaigning for the Olympics in 2012.

During this time, Koru Match plans to compete in:

ISAF World Cup Palma (Spain)

ISAF WC Hyeres (France)

Euros Qualifier (Finland)

ISAF WC Medemblik (Netherlands)

ISAF WC Sail for Gold (U.K.)

Selection for the Pre Olympics will be announced after Sail for Gold. It is the team’s intention to compete at this event.

Training has been organised and the team is looking forward to spending some time with the Germans, Finnish and French. Laurie Jury will be coaching the team during the tour.

The team have just finished a training camp in beautiful Pornichet, France.

Plenty of hours were spent on the water in perfect conditions and the team is well prepared for their next event. The ISAF World Cup Palma regatta is scheduled to commence tomorrow.

NZL is in Pool C along with USA, GBR, FRA, DEN, SWE, PER and CAN.
