The OKI Opti 6 Hour Race is sailed by teams of open or green fleet Optimist Sailors. The teams compete to complete as many laps of Lake Pupuke as they can in six hours. The race starts at 7.30am Saturday 2nd April with registration from 6.30am (yes it is dark then.)
This is the third running of this great event with Nathaniel Deverell from the Bay of Islands Yacht Club returning again to try and make it three wins in a row.
The annual race is the precursor of the famous OKI 24 Hour Race. The OKI Opti 6 Hour and the OKI 24 Hour Race are run by Murrays Bay Sailing Club and are held in the waters of Lake Pupuke on Auckland North Shore.
