Abu Dhabi Yacht Show - The UAE's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, HH Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, today opened a highly anticipated third Abu Dhabi Yacht Show.

The three-day event, running until Saturday evening (March 26), features an impressive flotilla of boats and yachts brought to the stunning Yas Marina setting by some leading players in the global yachting industry from the US, UK, Monaco, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Turkey and the Baltic states among others, in addition to home-grown success stories.

The show, attended by a high-profile international visitor body of yachting enthusiasts and decision-makers, and a significant international press corps, is focusing attention on Abu Dhabi's impressive marine leisure credentials.
These include superb berthing and yacht-support facilities and a complete marine lifestyle offering in the making, at destinations such as Yas Island and the 45 other marinas of various sizes being developed as part of Abu Dhabi's Strategic 2030 Plan.

In addition, the show is shining a spotlight on the UAE's growing yacht-building and export capabilities for larger sized yachts and the Middle East region's ever-buoyant buyer market. Sheikh Al Nahyan toured the moored vessels and visited several exhibitor booths in the tented exhibition area (see picture inset above).

The first two ADYS editions received a tremendously positive response from the global yachting community. The solid business opportunities it provided are reflected in the number of return exhibitors and several new companies that have chosen to join us this year, which is testimony to the commercial clout this region leverages on a global playing field, said Andy Treadwell, Managing Director of Informa Yacht Group (IYG) organisers of ADYS.

ADYS is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and is sponsored by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), with Yas Hotel as the official hospitality partner and Blancpain and HSBC Private Bank as the show's Platinum sponsors.

Show timings run daily from 3:00pm to 9:00pm. For more information on event schedules and highlights visit the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show website.
