Variety Splash participants aboard the 17 competing power and sail boats enjoyed a postcard perfect day yesterday on Port Philip Bay for the 5.6 nautical mile route from Queenscliff to Mornington.
This morning the fleet have participated in the last leg of the rally that takes them to the final destination at Sandringham Yacht Club.
This year the three day rally hopes to raise over $150,000 for Variety – the children’s charity.* Event Manager Jav Greaves said 'we are well on the way of meeting this target, we’ve had a fabulous three days of fun on the water and its fantastic to see the generosity of the power and sailboat teams participating in this unique event.'
* The fleet of 17 power and sailing boats raise money which will be used to empower children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs to live laugh and learn.
