Eden Yachting, one of the largest international yacht charter agencies based in the UAE, has lent its support to the Royal Yacht Club of Ras Al Khaimah in their bid for a podium position in Sailing Arabia - The Tour. The race, organized by Oman Sail, starts in Bahrain on Sunday 30 January 2011.

Six Farr 30 yachts, including three from Oman and one each from Bahrain, France and the UAE will start the 14 day, 1408 km race from the Amwaj Marina in Bahrain, sailing all the way to The Wave, Muscat, with stopping points in Doha, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Zighy Bay and Mussanah.

Philippe Saad, Founder and Managing Director of Eden Yachting, commented, 'We are fully involved with the local racing scene and proud to be one of the sponsors of the UAE yacht in this exciting race. Sailing is becoming increasingly high profile in the region, with Dubai recently hosting the Louis Vuitton Trophy, and the Volvo Ocean race stopping over in Abu Dhabi at the end of the year. We have ideal sailing weather during the long winter season, and it is a pleasure to race in these conditions.'

Each team of six will race on a Farr 30' yacht which were, according to the designer, created as a 'state-of-the-art offshore one-design that would be fast and exciting, yet uncomplicated and economical'. The competition will be intense, with the winners of the Tour de France a la Voile taking part as well as other internationally experienced sailors.
