The Haines Group helps keep Emergency Services afloat

Two Haines Group vessels were temporarily inducted into the Emergency Services last week to help patrol the new flood-made waterways amongst Brisbane homes.
As part of the Group’s support for flood victims Haines loaned two boats to Brisbane’s Emergency Services which were quickly registered and decals applied to assist in the effort to keep Brisbane homes safe.
The Suzuki side of the Haines’ business also saw midnight deliveries of spare parts to the Coast Guard, VMR and Water Police. Impellers, water pumps and propellers were being replaced due to the extreme conditions.
A Walker Bay 270AF inflatable boat, which was used by John Haines to check neighbours’ properties, will also be given away to raise funds for the flood relief appeal.
Having lost everything in the 1974 floods, the Haines family is only too keen to help 2011 victims in a way they know best, on the water.
In 1974 the Haines family homes and factory were flooded to the extent that boat moulds had to be recovered from the tops of trees in Goodna.
2011 has been a different story with the Wacol factory being unaffected by the flood water and boat production for Signature, Traveller and Seafarer has resumed today.
Last week all staff were literally hands to the pump helping in the preparations for and aftermath of the Brisbane flood waters.
Suzuki dealer Jon Eadie Mobile Marine came back from holiday to assist the emergency services by servicing their engines through the night.
Haines Group employees were involved in the clean up effort with teams mustering at the factory to be dispatched to the flood affected areas.
Coast Guard Brisbane sent a personal note of thanks noting that The Haines Group had gone above and beyond what was expected and have shown their true colours in terms of customer service and sense of community.
All Queensland has been affected by flooding in recent months and The Haines Group encourage its marine industry colleagues and all of Australia to keep assisting with the collective effort.
