The Boating Industry Association (BIA) of NSW has announced the appointment of Natalie Walker as Marketing and Events Coordinator.

She replaces Justine Merrony who left after eight-years in the role to fulfil her ambition to tour around Australia.

Formerly Events Manager for the Australian Veterinary Association, Ms Walker grew up in Sydney’s Hills district and now resides at Lane Cove, a virtual ‘stone’s throw’ from BIA headquarters at Crows Nest, on Sydney’s north shore.

She’s no stranger to the boating lifestyle, having worked on luxury cruise boats on the Mediterranean.

'I never met Justine, but I know she had a very good relationship with our members and worked closely on a number of major boat shows,' Natalie Walker said.

'It means I have a big pair of shoes to fill, but it’s a challenge I feel up to and one I am looking forward to enthusiastically,' she added.

Domenic Genua, the association’s Marketing and Event Manager, said there was a number of applicants for the position.

'Natalie’s background working in an association and with extensive experience in event management made her perfect for the role,' he explained.

'All of us here at the BIA office look forward to introducing her to our members and to the industry as well as working with her on future projects.

'We have no doubt that Natalie will deliver fresh ideas and enthusiasm to the BIA team,' he added.

For further information contact the BIA, telephone (02) 9438-2077.
