Barcelona World Race had Ocean Stars, Kito de Pavant and Sébastien Audigane, live in the Moll Barcelona World Expo from Groupe Bel, followed by Dee Caffari (GBR) and Anna Corbella (ESP) from GAES Centros Auditivos.
Dee Caffari (GBR)
'We have been out checking some sails today. In fact it was just nice to be out on the water, especially when it is snowing and freezing cold in England.
'They follow the ice, tracking it by satellite and little bits do break off which are the danger to us because they are often hidden beneath the surface and in the south we are usually going fast, so we try not to get too close.
'But of course if Anna wants to see some ice I have plenty of pictures.'
On how they will establish a routine:
'We will just see how each day evolves, there is no set pattern. We plan our strategy around the best weather files which comes early in the morning and in the evening. If the weather is good we will really push, sail hard for two hours and rest for two hours, but if the weather is bad we do what we have to do and take it as it comes. But the important thing is to look after each other and be ready for the changes. It is important to always rest when we can so that we are ready for action when we need to be.'
Anna Corbella (ESP):
'We have some pretty big cultural differences. She likes some types of food and I like others. It has been hard to find something that we both like to have on board for this race.
'And I wear a lot more thermal underwear layers than she does, I wear up to three layers.'
Kito De Pavant (FRA):
'I am quite sure that off Cape Horn we wont see any girls on the beach. It is easier to sail two handed for sure'
Sébastien Audigane:
'I will try to have a quiet Christmas at home in Brittany with the kids.'
