by Ian Thomson on 21 Dec 2010
Dare To Dream Cover Ian Thomson
World Record Solo Sailor Ian Thomson will be at the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia this Friday at 1630 to sign his book Dare to Dream. He will be onboard the almighty Brindabella from 1630 - 1700 before the official launch of Save Our Seas Ocean Racing's Around Australia World Record campaign at 1700.

Having smashed the world record for the fastest solo circumnavigation of Australia in May this year, Ian wrote a book about creating dreams and chasing them. It is an inspirational book to encourage you to do exactly what he did and to go for it. 'Without a dream, you just exist and go nowhere' Ian says. 'My book is simply meant to encourage people to create a dream and chase it and it tells my story as well as a couple of other inspirational sailors, Nick Moloney (only Australian Vendee Globe entrant) and Jamie Dunross (World Record Quadriplegic sailor.)

Rob Matthews who was onboard Business Post Naiad in the fatal 1998 Sydney to Hobart reviews the book and says 'This is a story of ocean racing against the clock ... a book about a great yachting achievement and the motivation behind. It is written for the average person, not just for yachties, and tells the inside story of what motivates Ian Thomson and how he wants to inspire and encourage others'

He will be available to sign the book from 1630 - 1700. Books on sale on the day for $30. In addition he will have camapign t-shirts available for $30 or you can sign up as a member of Save Our Seas Australia for just $60 and receive both the book and shirt and go into the draw to win a holiday valued at $4,180 to Paradise Bay Eco Lodge in the Whitsundays.
